Music in the Romantic Period
A detailed examination of European art music and its context from 1815 to 1900. A variety of forms and genres will be
studied against trends towards Romanticism. Music making will be explored from a variety of interpretive frameworks including
gender, race, and ideology.
Prerequisites: MU266 (or MU264*) and MU271, or permission of the instructor.
